How to choose a cleaning company and not regret it?

There are a huge number of companies and specialists on the market offering cleaning services. How to choose a company and not make a mistake? What criteria should you focus on first? To simplify the choice of specialists, we have compiled a checklist that, in our opinion, will help you approach the selection of a cleaning company correctly:

— List and description of services.

Before placing an order, find out what is included in this or that type of cleaning, and what you will need to pay extra for. For example, window cleaning by companies is usually considered a separate service and is not included in cleaning the premises. To avoid misunderstandings, check with the manager in advance for the list of works included in the service.

— Knowledge and professionalism of the manager/operator.

The person who advises you must provide comprehensive answers to all questions: how and what chemistry the specialists use, what the price is made up of, cleaning standards, etc.

If the company's average price tag is much lower or higher than the market, ask the operator what is causing this? For example, the low cost of services may depend both on completely transparent criteria (high-quality but inexpensive chemicals are purchased) and on on-site manipulations. In turn, the high price may be due to premium equipment or highly qualified specialists. In any case, the cost of services must be justified.

Also, when placing an order, pay attention to what clarifying questions the specialist asks. If you were not asked about the scope of work, the degree of contamination, did not clarify your wishes for the upcoming work, did not find out whether there are delicate surfaces/fragile objects (all that can ultimately affect either the cost of the work or the quality), this should at least be alarming. If the order was agreed upon with you in a hurry, then many unpleasant surprises may arise on the spot. A professional company knows what needs to be clarified with the client in order to correctly calculate the order and prepare the cleaners for work.

— Equipment for specialists.

Cleaners are required to bring all equipment with them; in the worst case scenario, you may be asked in advance whether you can use a stepladder. Mops, vacuum cleaners, mops, detergents - all this is the responsibility of the specialist who came to clean for you.

The cleaning equipment should be quite varied - do not believe that you can thoroughly clean the room with one product and a single rag. In cleaning, there are certain cleaning standards dictated by sanitary standards, for example, color coding of mops/rags.

Find out what chemicals the specialists will use, are there any relevant certificates?

— Is delivery of the necessary equipment included in the price?

Sometimes you can find cleaning offers whose cost will be much lower than the market. In this case, ask about “hidden” payments - will you have to pay for the specialist to bring equipment with him?

— Are there any examples of before/after work?

Examples of completed projects and a detailed description of the progress of work are another indicator that the company is competent in its field.

- Work with objections.

Positive customer reviews are great, but to judge a company's professionalism, try to find examples of handling objections online. Do managers respond politely to complaints? How do they propose to resolve the misunderstanding?

— Registration of business relations

Read the company agreement and terms of cooperation – are you satisfied with everything? What responsibility does the company have to the client? Is she just an intermediary between the cleaner and the customer (then the company’s responsibility is zero), or does she independently provide services, which means she values her reputation? Does the company announce a fixed cost for services, or can it increase? And if it increases, then what will it depend on? The more transparent the terms of cooperation and price calculation, the more reliable the company.

— Additional options and guarantees

If there is a large amount of work to be done and you are unsure whether to place an order, please clarify what additional options and guarantees the company is ready to offer? For example, in some cases, a specialist comes to assess the scope of work, makes calculations, and creates an estimate - this way you know that the price will not increase on the spot. Sometimes companies offer test cleaning - you will see the quality of the cleaning and decide whether you should trust the specialists with the entire scope of work, or whether it is better to “part ways on the shore”.

Find out what loyalty system is provided. If a company is aimed at working with regular customers, it will carefully control the quality of services, because assembly line work is not for it.

Soberly evaluate the company's promises. For example, high-quality dry cleaning of furniture can take from two hours to a whole working day. If you are promised to clean a sofa, mattress, chairs and three carpets in forty minutes, think about the quality of the services received?
